Learn more about the Dementia Knowledge to Action Program
The Dementia Knowledge to Action Program develops participants to become Guides, who can lead, coach, and influence within their care settings. They work directly with their team to enhance dementia practice at the point of care. By investing in a Guide who can implement rapid change and improvement, your organisation can become a preferred care provider for families and carers of people living with dementia.
Eligibility
To harness the best value from this program we ask that an organisational decision maker meets with the DTA Program intakes team. Program readiness as well as how to select the best candidate for the program will be explored.
To be a Dementia Guide, eligible candidates must be nominated by their organisation. They need to be knowledgeable and experienced in dementia care and be in a position or role that provides the opportunity to influence their peers and promote improvement in care.
Course components
Delivered over a 4-month period and participants are required to complete the following components:
- Enhanced Dementia Care Workshop
- Changed Behaviours Workshop
- Meaningful Spaces Virtual Reality Workshop
- Leadership E-learning
- Knowledge to Action and the Skills for Care Enhancement Workshop
