Dementia Training Australia welcomes a new Executive Director
On July 1, Dementia Training Australia welcomed Professor Belinda Goodenough to the role of Executive Director, taking the reins from Professor Richard Fleming.
Professor Belinda Goodenough is a behavioural scientist with over 25 years of experience in health, and health services research.
She has a specific interest in knowledge translation and implementation science – how to put evidence into practice, and has applied these skills in areas as diverse as pain, cancer, childhood health, and over the past decade, ageing and dementia.

Professor Goodenough has been with DTA in the role of Knowledge Translation Manager since its establishment in 2016.
She takes the reins from Professor Richard Fleming who retired as DTA’s Executive Director as of 30 June 2019. Professor Fleming, an environmental design expert and psychologist, led DTA for three years between 2016 and 2019. While stepping down from DTA, he will continue his role as a professorial fellow with the University of Wollongong.
DTA has benefited from excellent foundation work from its resigning directors, Professor Andrew Robinson (UTAS) and Professor Richard Fleming (UOW).
We thank Professor Fleming and Professor Robinson for their wonderful leadership and contribution to DTA and extend a warm welcome to Professor Goodenough.
We also welcome Michelle Rankin to DTA’s leadership team, newly appointed Chief Operating Officer.
